Men Show Courage 2024
In the effort of addressing the pressing issue of Gender Based Violence (GBV) to empower and sensitise the next generation of young men, MOT South Africa is excited to announce an event scheduled for 2024. With a focus on enabling 400 young men to lead responsible and choice-filled lives despite the social ills and abuse they may encounter, this initiative is a significant step towards a safer and more equitable society.
Event details:
The event, spanning three days from 12 – 14 July 2024, aims to engage young men in meaningful activities and interactions related to empowerment, civic responsibility, and identity. This event serves as a crucial starting point, setting the stage for a broader mission to combat GBV and transform these young men into ambassadors against it.
The Men Show Courage Camp – 20 – 22 September 2024
Following the event, MOT South Africa will conduct the Men Show Courage Camp. This camp will provide an extensive programme designed to equip the young men who attended the previous sessions with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to take a stand against GBV. By imparting the values of courage, responsibility, and respect, the camp intends to mould participants into advocates for change within their communities.
The two-part initiative not only addresses the issue of GBV but also strives to foster a sense of responsibility among young men, encouraging them to be active citizens who contribute positively to society.
